Hi everyone!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I'd like to wish you all a Happy New Year! 2011 has been amazing,
and I'd like to thank everybody for all their kindness and support. One of the highlights of my year was performing
at the Edmonton Folk Music Festival on the U22 stage. I wish I could relive that weekend over and over again. A
big thank you to Rhea March and Terry Wickham for asking me to be apart of such an amazing event! I had a wonderful
time performing all around Alberta at various events and jams. I've met so many amazing people over the year, and
had a chance to play with some really talented musicians. I would like to give a huge shout out to Jackson Mackenzie
and Bob Glidden for their support and backing me up at some of my shows!
On a recent vacation in Florida, I had an opportunity to participate in the American Idol Experience show at Universal
Studios. After a series of auditions I made it to the finale and I was chosen as the overall winner by audience
votes! The top prize was a 'Golden Ticket" to the front of the line for the real American Idol auditions.
Everybody was so nice and supportive. We then went on a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean for some fun in the sun!
:
I'm very excited to have been asked to open for Marty Stuart at the Shell Theatre-Dow Centennial Centre in Fort
Saskatchewan on March 10th, 2012. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster!
I continue to write new music and look forward to opportunities to share them with you in the New Year! I'd like
to thank everyone for ordering my CD and supporting my career in music!

Last weekend was the Edmonton Folk
Music Festival and it was one of the most amazing festivals I have ever experienced. I was honoured to be a part
of the U22 Concert Stage alongside Jennie Thai, Braden Gates, Emily Shultz,
Samantha Shultz, The Command Sisters and Scenic Route to Alaska. The crowd was huge and so energetic. It was definitely
one of my favourite shows I have played this year. I was also a part of the Key of A Stage
where I performed with a fellow U22'er Ky Babyn, and artists that were known by many at the festival. As the weekend
went on I saw so many familiar faces and met some new friends, it was like one huge party. Backstage was definitely
one of the highlights (lol). They hung Christmas lights in the green room making it so beautiful, and there were
massages for the performers! (Which I regret not doing haha!) The Finale was so perfect; k.d Lang has the most
amazing voice I have ever heard. After she was done, performers and volunteers got to stand on the stage and sing
"Four Strong Winds". It was absolutely amazing looking out into the crowd of over 20,000 people holding
candles. I'll never forget you: Edmonton Folk Music Festival 2011.
- I just wanted to say, Thank you to all of you who continue to support me by just clicking 'like' on Facebook,
subscribing to my Youtube channel, and listening to my music. It means the world to me. I love my fans!
- Just to keep you guys updated on some new music, I currently recorded three new songs with an amazing producer
Peter Stone! He was so great to work with. The songs have bit of a different sound but I am really proud of how
they turned out. Hopefully I'll get them posted for you guys to listen. Thanks again!
- Kayla :)

Hi everyone. I'm very excited that
I have been invited to perform at the "Edmonton Folk Festival" this year. I will be performing on the
U22 Stage between Aug 4-7th. I am also a contestant in "Undiscovered Edmonton", a talent show similar
to Canadian Idol but on a local level. I am also looking forward to performing at "The Works" festival
at Churchill Square
on July 5th.
We had a wonderful time at the Festival of Stars in Bashaw Alberta. The weather was perfect and we made some new
friends. I'd like to thank our friend Jackson Mackenzie for accompanying me on stage and Ron and Penny Shantz for
organizing this wonderful May long weekend event. I continue to write new music and can't wait to get back in the
studio. Please check out my tour page for a complete listing of my performance schedule.

positive feedback. I look forward to seeing you at one of the many festivals and events this summer.
Congratulations to Rhea March of U22 for receiving a Global Woman of Vision Award for her impassioned work in founding

Hi everyone, I just got back from
XM Country 105 radio station in Whitecourt. I had such an amazing time. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly.
I really want to thank them for being so supportive of local musicians like me, and allowing me the opportunity
to have my music played on their station. I would also like to thank one of my very good friends Candace Czuroski
for passing along my CD to XM Country for their Alberta Pride segment. On the drive home we had the radio blasting
and someone had phoned in to request my song, it was sooo exciting :) Thank you to Andrew Joseph, Nancy Portillo,
and Neil Shewchuk of XM Country 105fm. I will for sure stop by again sometime. :)

Happy New Year everyone!
I had a great time performing at the CBC stage in downtown Edmonton last night. The crowd was huge and I met some
great friends. After the show we were allowed to view the fireworks from the top floor inside the CBC studios where
it was nice and cozy. Every year my touring schedule gets busier and busier and I hope that one day I'll be performing
at an event near you. We plan on releasing one of my songs to radio very soon in the new year on country radio
across Canada so stay tuned in.

I'd like to thank everyone for coming

ever thanks to musicians Jackson Mackenzie and Bob Glidden. I finally got my new CD and it turned out great. It
is now available for sale from my website and soon from other outlets. You might even hear some of them on the
radio. Stay tuned!

Hi everyone! Last week I played
at the Bruce Stampede which is Canada's oldest running Rodeo which started in 1914. Hats off to the organizers
for their dedication to keep it running all those years. I especially want to thank Elaine and Don Laing for holding
on to my business card from when I performed at Rexal Place during the Rodeo four years ago and booking me for
their rodeo at Bruce Alberta. It was a real pleasure to meet you. Bruce Stampede

Hi everyone, This last month has
certainly been a busy one. On April 24th I started recording at Homestead Recorders for my next CD. I am really
excited because there will be 7 original songs that I wrote and 5 classic country songs that I know you are all
going to love. Then there was the photo shoot in and around the city that had people wondering who the big star
was, I had a blast. Next it was meeting the graphic artist who will be designing the CD cover. Everyone has been
so helpful and friendly. The whole project should be completed near the begining of July.....I hope. I also turned
the big 14 last week.

Hi everyone, Last night I performed
at the Uptown Folk Club along with some other very talented musicians. Dean Kheroufi wowed everyone with his bass
guitar as did Jonathan Drachenberg with his unique style of guitar playing. The Command sisters, Sarah and Charlotte
were amazing with their harmonies and music. We have become great friends and welcome opportunities to perform
together again. Thank you Rhea March of U22 productions for putting it all together. See what it's all about at

We had a wonderful time last Sunday
at the Cowboy Christmas Church gathering near Stony Plain Alberta. Although it was bitterly cold outside, Warm
hearts gathered inside for an afternoon of good ole Country Christmas Music. I was privileged to have Stewart Macdougall
accompany me and Jackson Mackenzie on one of my songs. Stewart MacDougall has toured with k.d. lang and Ian Tyson's
Chinook Arch Ryders. He partnered with David Wilkie in the Great Western Orchestra (GWO), the group produced two
albums. Stewart's songs are found on discs by Ian Tyson, Randy Travis, k.d. lang, and The Great Western Orchestra.

The Bashaw Music festival was a
huge success. This year the event was moved to the BashawAgricultural pavilion to accommodate over 500 guests that
took in this year's festival. There was something for everyone on the grounds. A slowpitch tournament at one end,
Chuckwagon racing at the other end and a Music festival in the middle. Congratulations to the organizers; everything
went great. I also want to thank my backup musicians: Ian Van Dusen, Stan Kontac, Bob Glidden, Dave Johnson and
Chris Wakelin for all their help. Plans are already underway to make next year's festival even better.

Hello everyone, Last weekend I opened
for the Dwayne Cannan concert in Stony Plain Alberta, It was a lot of work preparing with backup musicians Ian
Van Dusen, Lee Springer and Jackson Mackenzie and the music turned out just right. I ended my set with an original
song that I wrote called "What Can I Do" and the crowd loved it. Lee Springer added some beautiful lead
guitar parts to it. I hope to record the song this summer as well as a song that was sent to me from a songwriter
from Branson , Missouri USA. Thanks to all of you who attended the concert and purchased my CDs. The next Big show
is The Bashaw Music Festival. This year there will be over 80 artists performing over three days on May long weekend.
I'll be there Saturday night. If you are a Country and Bluegrass Fan, you won't want to miss this event.

Hi everyone, we had a wonderful
time on our cruise. I performed a few times onboard with the Great Canadian Barn Dance All Stars. The Dance floor
was always packed and everyone had a lot of fun. It was nice to get away to some hot sun while it was so cold here
at home. We wished that we could have stayed another week. Now it's time to get ready for another busy season.
I look forward to seeing you all this summer. Take care.

Hi there, another great year is
drawing to a close. First I'd like to congratulate the winners of the Country Vocal Spotlight Competitions. Danielle
Lowe was the 1st place winner of the Youth Division and over all Grand Prize winner. Lauren Adamoski was the first
place winner of Jr. Division and Alex Hughes was the winner of the Open Division.
I performed my last performance of the year at the CFCW radio booth at Rexall Place during this year's annual Canadian
Finals Rodeo. I have been contacted by some Nashville and Branson area songwriters who have offered me to review
their songs. I am very excited and hopeful that we can come up with some great music for my next CD.
I'd like to thank everyone who purchased my CD and I enjoyed performing all across Alberta this summer. Me and
my family are very excited to be going on a Mexican Riveria cruise in early January featuring the Great Canadian
Barn Dance All-Stars. They have invited me to make a guest appearance during their private show onboard the Carnival
Spirit Cruise Ship. The rest of the time it's fun in the sun. Once again thanks to everyone, hope to see all of
you in 2009.

Hi Folks , we just got back from
the Great Canadian Barn Dance Blue Grass & Classic Country Music Festival. I had soooo much fun performing
there again this year and I'd like to give A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to the Kunkel Family for inviting me again. George
Canyon closed out the show on Saturday evening and on Sunday , gospel music filled the air. Over 1000 people attended
the festival through out the weekend and the weather was perfect. The Great Canadian Barn Dance is truly one of
Southern Alberta's hidden gems. I'd also like to thank Calgary's radio station ...AM 1060 for playing some of my
music on the radio during the Barn Dance Saturday Night radio show. If you were at the festival, leave a comment
in my guest book. For more info click http://gcbd.ca/

Bashaw Festival of Stars was again
a huge success. The weather was fantastic this year and they had a sell-out crowd all weekend. Congratulations
to 10 yr old Annie Pattison from Calgary. She did a great job singing and I'm sure we'll be hearing more about
her in the up coming years. There were over 40 artists performing over the May long weekend from Country to Blue
Grass and Gospel. Once again thanks to Ron and Penny Shantz for inviting me to be a part of the Festival of Stars.
Howdy folks,
2008 is shaping up to be another
busy year. We had a great time in Castor Alberta and last week I sang at the Edmonton Rv Show. I'd like to thank
the folks at Western Rv for inviting us for the third year in a row. We always have fun there. We met up with our
friends from the Great Canadian Barn Dance and played a few tunes for them . The sound really came alive when fiddle
player Tony Micheal showed up to play along to Cowboy's Sweetheart. I have been busy learning more songs and playing
the guitar. I look forward to meeting up with friends from last year and making new ones this year. Drop by and
say hello, and don't forget to visit my guest book.
I'd like to share with you a poem that was written by a fan while I was performing on stage last year in Rimbey
Alberta.
Kayla:
Kayla Patrick is a singing star
Ten years old but she's gonna go far
up on stage with her dad by her side
she brings him along to give her a ride
He is a Picker - Songwriter but she steals the crowd
Singing all the right notes, her dad is so proud
Struttin' the stage like Loretta Lynn
This little lady is bound to win
When her voice slipped on that last song
She caught it before it could take her wrong
and carried on like a star in full control
This young lady is really on a roll
So to Kayla Patrick and the Guy in Red
We're all certain she's gonna get ahead
Years from now We'll hear her and then
Brag that we heard her way back when

Hi there,
2007 has been a very busy year and I have met so many nice people along the way. A big thank you to Maryanne Gibson
of Global Country and Terry Buchkowsky at Northlands. As the year is drawing to a close I would like to reflect
back over the year and share my experiences. One of the highlights of the year was my trip to Nashville and Pigeon
Forge Tennessee in March. Bill Borgwardt from Canada's "Country Music News" accompanied me and my family
while we were there and took us to many of the attractions in Nashville. The Ryman Auditorium,(the original Grand
Ole Opry) was really neat. It almost had an eerie ghostly feeling because of all the history that took place there.
There was a guitar on the old stage so my Dad and I got up to sing. There were some tourists from Texas that wanted
my autograph and said I will be a big star one day. The sound in the Ryman was incredible. We got a glimpse of
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill attending a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Then we were off to Pigeon
Forge where I competed in the North American Country Music Associations International competitions. I won three
awards and got to meet some great Country Music Legends, (Stonewall Jackson, Jim Ed Brown, Helen Cornelius, Jeannie
Sealy, John Conlee). Then it was back home to Edmonton where a busy schedule was shaping up. I'd like to thank
Ron and Penny Shantz from Bashaw Alberta for including me in their "Bashaw Festival of Stars Show". We
had a blast and met so many talented artists there. Another highlight of our summer, now for the last three years
has been singing at the Great Canadian Barn Dance near Hill Spring Alberta. Trevor and Lloyd Kunkel along with
their families have treated us so well when we're there. This summer I was there for their annual Bluegrass and
Country Music Festival. Brett Kissel also performed and we even got a chance to jam with him at our campsite. He
is so talented. There are so many people that deserve to be mentioned. I especially want to thank everyone who
purchased my CD. The feedback that I have received has been great. I hope to have another CD out by the end of
2008. Be sure to check my web site tour dates for up and coming shows. I always look forward to hearing from my
fans so click on the Guestbook to your left and say hello. |
