It all started with a match on Hinge—and a first date set for April 1st, 2024. Kayla couldn’t help but wonder if the whole thing might be an elaborate April Fools’ joke. Thankfully, it wasn’t. Instead, it turned into the beginning of something truly special.That night, they went out and played Kayla’s signature “Date Game,” quickly realizing how easy it was to laugh together and just be themselves. After dinner, they decided to end the night at Marquis II—a place that would soon become their spot. Somewhere between the drinks, the conversations, and the laughter, it quietly felt like the beginning of forever.From that point on, they were inseparable, seeing each other every couple of days and building something that felt both exciting and effortless. On May 9, 2024, Patrick made dinner for Kayla and asked her to be his girlfriend—an easy “yes” that marked the start of their next chapter.That summer was filled with meaningful moments—meeting each other’s families, making memories, and even a last-minute addition to the Newman family vacation, which only confirmed how naturally their lives were blending together.Then, on February 7, 2026, Patrick planned the perfect surprise. Kayla came home to a sweet note on the garage door, and when she opened it, there he was—down on one knee. In a moment that felt straight out of a dream, he asked her to marry him. And as if that wasn’t enough, he had secretly planned a wine night with loved ones—what Kayla thought was just a fun evening turned out to be their engagement celebration.Since the very beginning, Kayla and Patrick have bonded over their shared love of travel, a great bottle of wine, and delicious food. They cherish time with friends and family, find joy in each other’s laughter, and never miss a chance to have fun—especially on the dance floor.At the heart of it all, their relationship is built on kindness, communication, loyalty, and a whole lot of fun.
